Our Purpose

Advocacy Australia’s main purpose is to provide benevolent relief to individuals, children and families in need of direct relief of suffering, distress, misfortune and helplessness in the four areas of social justice – access, equity, rights and participation. We advocate on their behalf to advance public welfare and foster social justice in support of those who have suffered human rights abuse including victims of serious crimes and victims of international child abduction and their families. While our main purpose is to provide benevolent relief to promote and protect the human rights of individuals, children and families; under the banner of human rights, to relieve human suffering, Advocacy Australia also acts to prevent harm and promote the right of Australians to achieve the highest attainable physical, emotional and mental health.
